Best of "Peggy's Perspective" Now in Print

Peggy Noll woke up one morning to the realization that she was leaving everything familiar to embark on a new life in East Africa. Now she has compiled many of her most poignant experiences into a book that is both compelling and enlightening.

Peggy Noll, English instructor, mother of five, hostess extraordinaire, and wife of seminary professor Stephen F. Noll, woke up one morning to the realization that she was leaving everything familiar to embark on a new life in an unknown region of East Africa. How she has adapted and flourished has been thoughtfully and lovingly recorded in her weekly "Peggy’s Perspectives" available to her circle of friends, family, and supporters on the Uganda Partners list serve over a span of five years since her husband became the first Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University in Mukono, Uganda, in 2000.

"Perspective, as we all know, is about standing — or sitting, or lying — in one place, and looking from there to somewhere else." Readers of her weekly journal (and journey) have been able to glean a glimpse of daily life in a beautiful region of Africa where seasons never change; where family takes on a new meaning encompassing precious souls like those involved in the care giving and tending of gardens and household chores; where students have needs inconceivable in the West, having lost family members ravaged by disease and poverty; and where distances are shortened by the constant flow of visitors bringing gifts of service and tokens of a former life in the USA.

At the encouragement of friends and supporters, Peggy has compiled many of her most poignant experiences into a book that is both compelling and enlightening.
